Justin Ford-Robertson Consultant
Justin has been involved in research and development for over 15 years both in New Zealand and overseas. He has designed and managed research programmes and undertaken consultancy work on environmental aspects of land use and forestry, particularly relating to climate change mitigation and bioenergy.
Justin has been active in international research and policy setting through ongoing involvement with organizations such as the International Energy Agency and Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and has provided consultancy services to local, national and international organizations.
Justin brings the following capabilities to the business:
- Experience in design of research strategies and projects
- Specialist knowledge of climate change policies and implications
- Extensive international network of contacts in forestry, bioenergy and climate change
- Experience of multi-stakeholder participatory processes
Justin returned to NZ in 1993 after a decade in Aberdeen, Scotland, where he completed his BSc (Hons) Forestry and MPhil (Bioenergy) and acquired a taste for malt whisky. He is a member of the NZ Institute of Forestry and the NZ Farm Forestry Association. He enjoys working on the sustainability of his rural block that includes tending a variety of trees, crops and habitats, and maintaining its own heat, power and water supplies, as an "educational playground" for his family and friends.
