The Annual Carbon Emissions (ACE) calculator - “A free lunch”, honestly!
ACE is a simple and complimentary spreadsheet tool to monitor Green House Gas (GHG) emissions for your business.
No one in business in New Zealand will have escaped the climate change debate and many are considering its impact on their business and lives. Working on the theory that “you cannot manage what you cannot measure” we have developed what we believe to be a useful tool to help you estimate the GHG emissions arising from your energy use. We are using this in our own business, and found it helpful and offer it now to you.
ACE calculates the various GHG associated with each energy supply and converts them into CO2 equivalents.
Free Download here.
GHG emissions estimation and monitoring is increasingly common for a number of reasons:
- Measuring environmental performance for company reports;
- Monitoring emissions to help reduce energy use or emissions intensity;
- Offsetting emissions through activities such as tree planting;
- Engaging in carbon trading;
- Anticipating future carbon taxes and other policy measures.
Inputs for ACE are:
- For each month data on energy use, including road and air transport, is entered in a separate sheet;
- Preset destinations for both air and road transport are included to help estimate travel distances;
- Road transport is separated into petrol and diesel vehicles, since there are different emissions factors for each.
Results are displayed in:
- Tables and bar chart of emissions by source each month;
- Graph of cumulative annual emissions;
- Graph showing total energy use.
Have ACE customised to your requirements
